NOTES:
The deadliest weapon the shareware version of DOOM, both to your enemies and yourself. The Rocket Launcher is the only DOOM weapon that can injure the user. Should you fire a rocket at a target at extreme close range, or your rocket should hit an object or wall at said range the splash damage can hurt you a lot.

Rockets are the only weapon that cause "splash damage"; damage to creatures other than the creature struck by the rocket (the BFG9000 appears to cause splash damage, but does not). This splash damage is the leading cause of self-fragging in DOOM, and has turned many a co-op game into instant deathmatch.

Splash damage is about 100 points near the center of the blast and drops quickly over a short distance horizontally. The creature struck by the rocket is not effected by splash damage.

One interesting note is that splash damage does not disperse in a sphere, but in a cylinder of infinite height. This means that monsters above or below a rocket impact will be injured. A good example of this is E1M3 of DOOM. Behind a "window" in the room to the left of the start room is a pillar with a Soul Sphere on it. At the base of the pillar, quite a distance below the window, are several Imps. If you fire rockets through the window and hit the halls behind the window the resulting splash damage will injure or even kill the imps below.

Name: Plasma Rifle
Damage: 50
Included Ammo (Skill 1): 80
Max Ammo: 300
Ammo: Cells
Velocity: 25
Weapon Number: 6
Shots / Minute: 720
Included Ammo (Skill 2+): 40

NOTES:
The plasma rifle fires high velocity bolts of blue energy, much like the Cacodemon. The Plasma Rifle works good against slower enemies at medium distance as the energy blasts can be dodged.

The Plasma Rifle has one big disadvantage; the large projectiles often block your view, allowing enemies to attack you unseen.

This weapon is by far the fire-rate king.
